Abbie Boyer

Abbie A. Boyer, 83, of Detroit Lakes died Friday, May 1, 2009 at St. Mary’s Innovis Health in Detroit Lakes. The Funeral Service will be 1:00 PM Saturday, May 9 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Detroit Lakes with Father Jerry Rogers officiating. Interment will be in Hamden Cemetery, rural Audubon, MN. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.

Abbie Adeline Tignor was born September 30, 1925 in Lake Park, MN to George and Florence (Kelso) Tignor. She moved with her family to Sioux City, IA and Auburn, NE prior to moving to Audubon, in 1939. Abbie attended Audubon Public Schools. She married Paul Boyer in Lake Park, MN January 4, 1945. They farmed near Audubon until 1979. Abbie entered St. Mary’s Nursing Home in 2006.

Abbie enjoyed her pets and being with her family.

Abbie is survived by her husband, Paul of Detroit Lakes; four daughters, Mary (Ronald) Hendrickson of Lake Park, Lola (Sam) Archuleta of Las Vegas, NV, Deb Mattson of Lake Park, Stacey (Bernie) Rick of Pelican Rapids; two sons, Lonnie Boyer of Glyndon, MN and Randy (Julie) Boyer of Moorhead, MN; eight grandchildren, Amy Hendrickson, Kayla Walton, Justin Hendrickson, Lindsey McIntire, Nathan Boyer, Alexander Mattson, Mariah Hanson, Devin Rick; four great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Abigail, Morgan, and Aiden. She was preceded in death by one brother; one son and one daughter.
