Alda Jean Fredine

Alda Fredine, 93, of Detroit Lakes, MN died on Wednesday, August 2, 2023, at her home.

Alda Jean was born on September 4, 1929, in South Whitley, Indiana, the daughter of Fredrick H.W. and Lucie (Kissinger) Krudop. She grew up and attended high school there in South Whitley and attended college at Manchester University for her teaching degree. She married Howard Fredine on June 12, 1952, and together had two children.

Over the years she loved to take part in crafting, sewing, working bazaars and being a part of the United Methodist Church. Above all else though, she was very proud of the genealogy and published a book with family history that she was able to keep track of.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 65 years, and her brother, Larry (Caroline).

Alda is survived by her children, Karen Larson of Minneapolis, MN and Jerry Fredine of Detroit Lakes, sister, Doris (Carlo) Tozzi of Chicago, IL, and many nieces and nephews.

Services for Alda will be held on September 19, 2023, at 1:00 pm in the Memorial Garden at Detroit Lakes United Methodist Church.
