for a year.
Alice
was united in marriage to Ralph Paulson January 28, 1933 in Pelican Rapids.
To this union were born five children: Loren, Donald, Lyle, Faye and James.
The Paulsons moved to the John Matson Farm, 3 miles east of Pelican Rapids where they lived until the death of Ralph in 1982.
In the years 1953-1958,
Alice
worked as a nurses aid at the
Pelican
Valley
Hospital
in Pelican Rapids.
She returned to Mayville State College 1959-1960 and attended B. Y. U. in
Provo
,
UT
where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in 1962.
She taught in
Sarles
,
ND
and
Osakis
,
MN
prior to accepting the position of Elementary Librarian for the Detroit Lakes Public Schools in 1967.
In June, 1974, she resigned her Librarian position and she and Ralph left for an 18 month mission to
San Diego
,
CA
for the Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where they acted as guides in the
Morman
Batallion
Visitors
Center
.
Following Ralph’s death,
Alice
worked as a live-in companion to a lady in
Santa Barbara
,
CA
for several months.
She returned to Pelican Rapids for a short time and accepted a similar position with Mrs. Dagney Lund in
Detroit
Lakes
before meeting and marrying Ed Gramm, November 13, 1987 in
Detroit
Lakes
.
Alice
worked as director of The Family History Center in the Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints for 18 years.
Her church callings were as follows: President of Women’s Relief Society, Meeting House Librarian, Adult Sunday-school teacher and Director Of The Family History Center (genealogy).
Survivors include her children: Loren (Dora) Paulson – Corpus Christi, TX, Donald (Carolyn) Paulson – Santa Barbara, CA; Lyle (Connie) Paulson – Detroit Lakes, MN; Faye Jones – Albuquerque, NM; Jim (Patricia) Paulson – Pelican Rapids, MN; 19 grandchildren; 80+ great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Ralph Paulson and Ed Gramm, a sister: Edith and a brother: Leonard
