Alicia Boisse

Alicia Ann Boisse, 57, of Detroit Lakes, MN, Passed away peacefully at her residence on March 6, 2025, at 9:00am.

Alicia was a light in everybody’s day. She loved God and would often sing ‘God Loved the Little Children’ to her nieces and nephews when they were little. Alicia spent her childhood with Tony and Judy Burresch, and her siblings. She graduated from West Covina Highschool in 1985. She then moved to Minnesota when she was 18 to reunite with her family. At this time, she resided in Mahnomen where she went on to join the DAC and worked in the Mahnomen community for several years. Alicia then moved to Detroit lakes to a home through Lakes Homes Program and Development - where she resided until her passing.

Alicia’s Favorite color was purple, and her favorite music was Prince and the Beach Boys. She loved going shopping with staff and Family. And collecting wind chimes. Alicia loved pontooning and singing/dancing with her housemates.

Alicia is preceded in death by her parents; John and Donna Amundsen of Mahnomen, MN. Tony (Judy) Burresch of West Covina, CA. Colleen Horn (Amundsen) of Twin Valley, MN. John Amundsen Jr. of Erskine, MN.

She is survived by her biological father; Edward Boisse of Tennessee. Siblings; Rocky (Derek) Weiby of Fosston, MN. Jimmy Boisse of Erskine, MN. cousins Toni (George) Burthwick of Oklee, MN. many nieces and nephews.

Services for Alicia will be Held at David-Donehower Funeral home in Detroit Lakes, MN, on Wednesday, March 19th. A visitation hour will begin at 11:00am with service to begin at 12:00pm. A luncheon is to follow after the service.
