Alys M. Larson, age 83, resident of Nampa, ID, formerly of Detroit Lakes, and Casselton, ND died Thursday, May 8, 2008 in Nampa, ID.
Funeral services for Alys will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday, May 20, 2008 at Shoreham Chapel of rural Detroit Lakes. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services on Tuesday at the Shoreham Chapel.
Alys May Schultz was born on July 7, 1924 in Casselton, ND. She married Arthur C. Larson on October 11, 1945. They lived in Detroit Lakes from 1955 to 1966 where they operated a turkey farm, until moving to San Diego, CA in 1966. Mr. and Mrs. Larson moved to Idyllwild, CA and then to La Quinta, CA where they owned and operated a restaurant, and Alys helped her husband with a construction business. After Arthur died in 1990, she moved to Nampa, ID where she lived for 13 years. Alys enjoyed gardening, jigsaw puzzles and her Cairn Terrier, "Zippy".
She will be remembered and missed by her son; Jeffrey and wife Susan Larson of Nampa, ID, three daughters; Jane and husband Robert Boermans of Canyon Lake, CA, Jacquelyn and husband John Mitchiner of Aurora CO and Vicki and husband Fred Carrillo of San Diego, CA. She is also survived by ten grandchildren; Benjamin, Kevin, and Conrad of Nampa, ID, Laura and Colleen of Canyon Lake, CA, Lesley, Greg and Emily of Aurora, CO and Lindsay and Robyn of San Diego, CA along with two great grandchildren; Sonny and Maxwell.
Alys was able to spend her last few days at home where she loved to be. She had a happy and blessed life and she will be truly missed by us all. See you in heaven Mom!
