Andrew Favorite

Andrew Paul Favorite was born April 19, 1948 in Toledo, Ohio to Charles "Ted" and Lois (Jordain) Favorite. He was raised and educated in Minneapolis, MN, graduating from DeLasalle High School and the University of St. Thomas. Following graduation, he worked for the Grain Belt Brewery. He earned his Masters Degree from the University of St. Thomas where he is a member of the wrestling hall of fame. Andrew was united in marriage to Mary Rock, September 22, 1982 in Duluth, MN. They lived in the Twin Cities, Jordan, MN, Duluth, MN and, for the past 20 years, in Waubun, MN. .During his working life, Andrew taught at the University of Minnesota-Duluth, AIOIC in the Twin Cities and at the White Earth Tribal College.

Andrew enjoyed teaching, hunting, fishing, road hunting, driving in the woods, story telling, time with his grandchildren and participating in programs on Indian heritage. He was an historian for the Minnesota Historical Society and for the White Earth Reservation. While at DeLasalle, he was a state wrestling champion and, while at the University of St. Thomas, he was a national wrestling champion. Survivors include his wife, Mary of Waubun, 3 sons: Darwin (Debra) Rock of St. Francis, MN, Kevin Armstrong of Ramsey, MN, Michael (Sara Tempel) Armstrong of Franklin, MN; a daughter: Elizabeth (Tony) St. Clair of Detroit Lakes, MN, 9 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, his dog, Lady, 2 brothers: James Favorite of Minneapolis, MN, Charles Jr. (Chris) of Isle, MN, 2 sisters: Mary (Denny Augustson) Favorite of Anoka, MN and Lucy Favorite of Blaine, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson: Travis Rock, his grandmother, Winnie Jordain and his dog, Cindy.
