Anthony Brugman

Anthony "Tony" D. Brugman, 57, resident of Detroit Lakes, died Saturday, December 14 at his residence. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, December 19 at 2PM in David Donehower Funeral Home. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services. Interment will be held in the spring at Oak Grove Cemetery. Tony was born July 5, 1956 in Moorhead, MN to George and Mary (Sandberg) Brugman. He attended school in Fargo and Park Rapids. After school he enlisted in the United States Navy and was stationed in Hawaii for six months. Upon returning home, Tony travelled extensively throughout the United States. He settled in Spokane, WA working for an RV repair shop and landscaping company. In 1984, he met Mary Carrabou and settled in Detroit Lakes. He was employed at Newman Repair and Halsty's Manufacturing. Tony was a true artist at heart and enjoyed the simple things in life. With his creative mindset, Tony could draw and craft anything he set his mind too. He loved being outdoors, whether it was camping, going on his hunting and fishing trips to Montana, Tony took in every view possible and always made it memory. He enjoyed being close to his grandchildren where he was able to spend quality time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Tony had a heart of gold and lived by the saying; "love, honor and integrity. He had a wonderful sense of humor that will be missed by his entire family.

Tony is survived by his soul mate of 29 years, Mary Carrabou of Detroit Lakes, step-children: Jackie Carrabou (John Stiyer) of Detroit Lakes and Ken Carrabou of Detroit Lakes. He is survived by six grandchildren: Nichole, Cassie, Jack, Heather, Karla and Nathan, and six great-grandchildren along with his sister: Patricia (Jerry) Kendall of Rochert, MN, two nieces: Michelle (David) Bellefeuille and Suzanne (Greg) Schaefer all of Barnsville, MN, five great nieces and nephews and his dog: "Bellstar". He is preceded in death by his parents and infant brother: Kelly Brugman.
