Arlene Johnson

Arlene J. Johnson, 80, resident of Detroit Lakes, MN, died Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at Emmanuel Nursing Home in Detroit Lakes.

Funeral Services for Arlene will be held Friday, September 10, 2010 at 10:00 AM in Emmanuel Nursing Home Chapel. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services. Interment will be held at Strandvick Cemetery, rural Lake Park, MN.

Arlene J. Johnson was born February 16, 1930 in rural Lake Park, MN to Henry and Florence (Erickson) Johnson. She attended country school at District 50 near Lake Park until 1940 when she then moved to Detroit Lakes. She graduated in 1948 from Holmes High School in Detroit Lakes. She started her working career as a nurse’s aide at St. Mary’s Hospital until 1952. That year, Arlene moved to Minneapolis, MN where she worked for St. Louis Park Medical Center and the Medical Arts Building as a medical assistant. She moved back to Detroit Lakes in 1980.

Arlene enjoyed reading, watching her favorite singer Daniel O’Donnell and visiting with her friends.

Arlene is survived by her friends Jean (Patricia) Bollig of Detroit Lakes and all the wonderful residents and staff at Emmanuel Nursing Home.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and infant twin brother Arlen.
