Arvid Rosing

Arvid E. Rosing, 82, resident of Audubon, MN, died Friday, October 1, 2010 at St. Mary’s Essentia Health in Detroit Lakes, MN.

Funeral Services for Arvid will be held Thursday, October 7, 2010 at 2:00 PM in St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, rural Audubon, MN. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 6, 2010 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM with a 7:00 PM Prayer Service at David Donehower Funeral Home, Detroit Lakes, MN. Visitation will also continue one hour prior to services on Thursday.

Arvid was born to Emil and Emma (Moe) Rosing of rural Barnesville, MN. He served in the United States Navy during WWII. Arvid was united in marriage to Delores “Dode” Erickson of Lake Park, MN on November 28, 1947. They moved to a dairy farm in rural Audubon in 1950 where they raised five children. Arvid retired from farming in 1983.

Throughout his life, Arvid enjoyed old-time music, gardening, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family and friends. He was an active member of the Odd Fellows Club, D.A.V. Post 31, American Legion Post 339 in Audubon and St. Peter’s Lutheran Church.

Arvid will be remembered and deeply missed by his wife, Delores, his five children: Dave (Paulette) of Audubon, Dixie (Larry) Buschette of Elverta, CA, Bruce (Darla) Rosing of Soldotna, AK, LaVaun (Shawn) Lealos of Audubon and Karla (Paul) Hogenson of Audubon. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 7 Step grandchildren and one sister: Norma Roberti of Sacramento, CA along with many nieces and nephews
