Our beloved Audrey Bernice Ronning (Kohler) passed away peacefully at Oak Crossing (where she was affectionately known as Miss America) on October 30, 2024. She was born August 21, 1926 and was raised on the Barney Farm, north of Audubon MN. Her parents were the late William and Ella Kohler.
Audrey grew up in a family of 10 siblings - six boys and four girls. Audrey married Gordon Ronning on December 14, 1947 in Ulen, MN. She is survived by one daughter; Joyce Hanson (Milt), and one son; Craig "Jr" Ronning - both of Detroit Lakes, MN, eight grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 13 great-great-grandchildren (her baker's dozen), her two brothers; Earl Kohler (Judy), Dennis Kohler (Dory), and her sister; Marlene Dahlberg.
Audrey is preceded in death by her parents, three daughters; Carol Johnson, Deborah Ronning, Roxanne Ronning. One son; Stephen. Three grandsons; Javis, Caleb, and Zachary Ronning. As well as four brothers and two sisters. Audrey lived her life to the fullest - gardening, canning, cooking (her love language), her love of animals, and an avid Twins/Vikings/Michigan State Basketball fan.
She always had the best Jokes and made a point to laugh every day.
Services for Audrey will be held at David-Donehower Funeral Home in Detroit Lakes at 1:00pm on Thursday, November 7, 2024. A visitation and time of sharing will be held two hours prior to service from 11 - 1:00pm
