Barbara Diane Weston, age 80, of Detroit lakes, peacefully passed away on July 22, 2024, after a long battle of Alzheimer’s. Barbara was born on NOVEMBER 4, 1943, IN SPOKANE WASHINGTON.
Barb enjoyed being an AirForce brat - living in many places including Alaska, Philippines, California, and many more. She enjoyed going to the dances on the bases with her brother and sisters. She was married to Duvane Jacobson and had 3 daughters - they later divorced, and she was married to Donald Weston.
Barbara was well known for working at Warehouse Foods ( aka County Market, Central Market in Detroit Lakes), along with working at Lakeshirts as an embroiderer and daycare provider for 25+ years until she retired. She loved all those kids - she had a special place in her heart for all of them! Barb always had a smile and would talk to just about anyone as if she had known them already.
Barbara is survived by her three daughters: Darci (Bill) Hause of Albany, MN; Kami Olsen (Kyle) of Detroit Lakes, MN and Kristi Erb of Detroit Lakes, MN and six grandchildren: Cody Olsen (Maddy), Bradey Okeson, Kali Olsen, Taylor Hause, Cole Hause (Olivia) & Gracie Erb and a great grandchild: Norah Okeson; sister: Charlene (Gary) Henderson, Lake Tahoe, NV and sister-in-law, Gail (Stubby) Reeves, Escondido, CA and many nieces and nephews.
She loved taking her grandkids camping with her scamp and enjoyed all kinds of music, playing the accordion, guitar and enjoyed playing bingo. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents Charles T. Reeves & Mildred Reeves, brother Stubby Reeves and sister Patsy Wilkes, brother-in-law Mickey Wilkes and her husband Donnie Weston.
The family is deeply grateful for the exceptional care she received from the staff at Ecumen and hospice of the red river valley - all the nurses, staff and visitors - friends and family visits. Thank you for celebrating the life of our wonderful mom - she will be missed so much - but her love lives on with all of us.
“the song has ended but the melody remains”
Honorary pallbearers are her grandchildren and great grandchild: Cody Olsen, Bradey Okeson, Kali Olsen, Taylor Hause, Cole Hause, Gracie Erb and Norah Okeson
