Beatrice (Kuhne) Wesley, 78, Detroit Lakes, MN, formerly of Vergas, MN, died Sunday, January 11, 2009 at Oak Crossing in Detroit Lakes. Mass Of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM Thursday, January 15 at St. William’s Catholic Church in Parkers Prairie, MN, Fr. LeRoy Scheirel, officiating. Interment will be in St. William’s Cemetery in Parkers Prairie. Friends may call 4:00 – 7:00 PM Wednesday with a prayer service at 6:30 PM at David-Donehower Funeral Home in Detroit Lakes and at the church one hour prior to the funeral mass.

Beatrice Lorraine Kuhne was born October 3, 1930 in Miltona, Minnesota to George and Esther (Robinson) Kuhne. She attended grade school in Miltona and high school in Alexandria, MN. Bea was united in marriage to Harry Wesley February 3, 1949 in Belle River, MN. They lived in Parkers Prairie until moving to Vergas, MN in 1955. Bea worked at the Loon’s Nest Café in Vergas for 28 years and was active as a Cub Scout Den Mother, had served on the Vergas P. T. A., was a member of the Vergas Homemakers Club and was councilor of Candor Township. For several years she was active in the Vergas Knitting Club and on the Vergas Long Lake Park Board. Bea and Harry moved to Detroit Lakes in 1995. Harry died December 27, 2008.

During her retirement years, Bea enjoyed family time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, knitting, fishing and spending time playing cards with her neighbor friends.

Beatrice will be remembered and missed by her children, Margaret and her husband, Chuck Saunders of Coon Rapids, MN, John of Detroit Lakes, MN; three grandsons, Brad and his wife Cheryl Saunders, Mike and his wife, Addie Wesley, John and his wife Jill Saunders; granddaughter, Michon Koppe; great-grandsons, Chase Saunders, Hunter Saunders, Tyler Saunders, Jacob Wesley; great-granddaughters, Chantelle Koppe, Celeste Koppe, MacKenzie Koppe and Payge Saunders; sisters, Lucille Vogt of Leaf Valley, MN, Marlys Kuhne of Farwell, MN, Sharon Revering of Alexandria, MN and Kathy and her husband Philbert Larson of Henning, MN; brothers, Harold and his wife, Ann Kuhne of Parkers Prairie, MN and George and his wife Kathy Kuhne, Jr. of Miltona, MN; numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Harry, Bea was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Lillian Kuhne and Ann Zuelke; brother, Arnold Kuhne; daughter-in-law, Kristie Wesley.
