Bernice Sauer

Bernice M. Sauer, 90, Detroit Lakes, MN, died Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at Summit Place in Eden Prairie, MN. Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:00 PM Friday, May 18 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Msgr. Timothy McGee, officiating. Interment will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery. Friends may call 5:00 – 7:00 PM Thursday with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at David-Donehower Funeral Home. The visitation will continue 1 hour prior to the mass at the church on Friday. Bernice Mathilda Sauer was born January 9, 1922 in St. Cloud, MN to John F. and Rosalie (Weisser) Ebnet. She is a 1939 graduate of St. Cloud Cathedral High School. Following graduation, she worked for Chargail Manufacturing in St. Cloud. Bernice was united in marriage to Roy Sauer June 23, 1947 in St. Cloud, MN. They made their home in Detroit Lakes. Roy died in 1999. Bernice moved to Summit Place in Eden Prairie in November, 2011. Bernice enjoyed playing cards, doing crossword puzzles, traveling, relaxing at the cabin on Long Lake, a good laugh and spending time with her family. Survivors include a son: Robert (Mary) Sauer of Eden Prairie, MN, a daughter: Jaci (Pam Dudziak) Sauer of Bloomington, MN, four grandchildren: Julie (Stephen) Doig of Melbourne, Australia, Becky (Justin Ball) Sauer of Beaverton, OR, Olivia Dudziak and Delilah Dudziak both of Bloomington, MN, two sisters: Rose Marie Hartman of Ferguson, MO and Donna Mae Stroeing of St. Cloud, MN. In addition to her husband, Roy, she was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Ebnet. D
