Bess Misho-Hamilton
November 21, 1919 — July 17, 2017
Bess Geraldine Misho-Hamilton, age 97, of Detroit Lakes, MN, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 17, 2017, at Essentia Health-Oak Crossing Nursing Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am on Friday, July 21, 2017, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Detroit Lakes with a time of gathering at 9:00 am. The burial will takes place at Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery following the service.
She was born November 21, 1919, in Ottertail County, MN. She worked for nine years at Woolworths and for many years alongside her husband at her family grocery stores. Bess was an avid geneoligist who enjoyed discovering her family history. She also liked sewing. She was an amazingly organized woman and an enthusiastic numismatist with an extensive coin collection, sorted by year and grade.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Anton and Dora Rotz; her husbands, George Misho and Dale Hamilton; sisters, Annette (Joseph), Ina (Louis) Sylvester, and Helen (Donald) Nelson; brothers, William (Esther) Rotz, and Robert Rotz, and sister-in-law, Iris Rotz.
She is survived by brother, Donald Rotz of Otterail County; a sister-in-law, Geraldine Rotz of Crystal, MN; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, American Heart Association, and Hospice of the Red River Valley.
