Betty Branden

Betty Mae Dorff was born on May 5th, 1933 in Audubon, MN to Edwin and Amanda Dorff. She died on March 4th, 2022 at home in Hawley, MN.

Betty attended school in Audubon, MN where she met the love of her life, Dallas Branden. They were married on December 10th, 1954 in Audubon, MN. Their union led to six children, David, Lydell, Pam, Candace, Randy and Gary. Betty and Dallas made their home in multiple locations including Colorado, Germany, Oklahoma and Minnesota. Betty worked in various positions including homemaker, telemarketer, and for a short time cleaning cabins. Betty will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved spending time with her family going on picnics, traveling, playing cards and games as well as reading books. She will forever be remembered for her warm and comforting personality, her love of big family gatherings (especially for Christmas) and music by Elvis.

Betty is survived by her children, Lydell (Dianna) Branden, Walcott, ND, Pam Passanante, Hawley, MN, Candace Naanes, Dilworth, MN, Randy (Marj) Branden, Grandin, ND, and Gary Branden, Hawley MN; daughter-in-law Debbie Branden, Dilworth, MN; grandchildren Jeremy (Tressie), Michael and Amberly, Justin and Ryan, Mandy and Angela (Nick), Blake (Stephanie), Cody, Hazel (Hannah) and Brandon (Zola), Sarah (Dylan) and Mikayla (Derek); great grandchildren, Macyn and Khloe, Tanner, Madisyn and Tyson, Johnathan, Noah, Alexander and Jaxon, Dixon and Westin, Atreyu and two upcoming great grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Dallas, son David, grandson Jay, son-in-law John, parents Edwin and Amanda, and siblings Gertrude, Harvey, Wallace and Darlene.
