Beverly Dakota, 61, of White Earth, MN, passed away on Sunday, August 28, 2022 at her home under the care of her family and hospice. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, September 2, 5pm at St. Columba Episcopal Church in White Earth. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Beverly Ann Dakota was born on January 23, 1961 in Detroit Lakes, MN to James “Stub” and Claudia (Brown) Dakota. Beverly was raised in White Earth. She lived in Minneapolis for a short time, and also Redwood Falls. While living in Redwood she worked for Jackpot Junction Casino as a short order cook. Beverly moved back to White Earth in 2014, and started working for Shooting Star Casino in general maintenance and was working there upon her passing.
Beverly was an active church member at St. Columba Episcopal Church, she was also an Ojibwe Hymn singer, and was a Bishop Committee member.
Beverly enjoyed playing cards, dice, bingo, slots, crocheting, puzzles, and spending time with family.
Preceding Beverly in death are her parents James and Claudia; daughter Teresa Dakota; grandson Robert Azure Jr; sisters Barb Dakota and Karen Molacek.
Left to mourn Beverly’s passing are her children Merlin (Melissa) Dakota Sr., and Julius Hanks Jr; grandchildren Tyson, Taylor, Devon, Dayton ”Buddy”, MaKayla, Cheyla, and Merlin Jr; great grandchildren Kaidence, Dawson and Novalee; siblings Debra(Brad) Weaver, Joyce (Gordy) Bellanger, Donna (Matt) Dakota, Donald (Lori) Dakota, and Jean (Stacey) Weaver.
