Beverly Gunderson

Beverly Mae (Abdo) Gunderson, 69, of Mahnomen, MN, passed away on March 26, 2021 at Essentia Health – St. Mary’s in Detroit Lakes, MN.

Beverly Mae Abdo was born on December 9, 1951 in Williston, ND, the daughter of Dabby and Mae (Goodwin) Abdo. She attended Mahnomen High School and graduated as part of the class of 1969.

Beverly met the love of her life, Stanley Gunderson, and on June 19, 1971 they were united in marriage in Mahnomen, MN. To this union two sons, Jamie and Jeremy, were born.

She went back to school later in her life, earning her teaching degree from Minnesota State University – Moorhead. Beverly began teaching K-6 grades at the Mahnomen Elementary School for fifteen years. Her passion in life was teaching and being a role model for her students.

Beverly enjoyed going to the casinos, fishing and cooking. She loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Deeply loved, Beverly’s passing will be mourned by her husband of 49 years Stanley; her son Jeremy; her grandchildren Brandy (Cliff) Gustinson, Kyamae Gunderson, and Tevin (Lyla) Gunderson; her great-grandchildren Ora, Brinley, Dax, and Vinnie; her brothers Keith (Debby) Abdo and Rusty Abdo, and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents Dabby and Mae, and her son Jamie Gunderson.
