Brandon Dakota

August 21, 1986 — December 20, 2021

White Earth

Brandon Dakota, age 35, of White Earth, MN passed away on Monday, December 20, 2021, at Essentia Health Hospital in Fargo, ND.

Brandon Leroy Dakota was born on August 21, 1986, to Debra Weaver (Brad Weaver Sr) and Leroy Hanks in Detroit Lakes, MN.  Brandon attended school in Callaway, Detroit Lakes and Waubun.  He graduated as a Waubun Bomber with his class in 2005.  He played football and basketball throughout his high school years and continued his love of sports by being a huge Bomber fan, which later became the Thunderbirds. Brandon continued attending the games year after year, cheering on the home team.

In 2011, Brandon met his soulmate Tami Clark and his stepdaughter Kelsi Rae Clark.  In March of 2013, they would welcome their first daughter together, Taleigha, and in November of 2014 they welcomed their second daughter Tehya.  These little girls would become Brandon’s being.

Growing up, he would spend time helping family with leeching.  He riced every year with his dad, they also spent a lot of time in the woods together.  Later Brandon started work at the Northern Lights Casino in the Count Department, then at the Shooting Stars Count Department until the pandemic hit.

Brandon was a very dedicated dad, and he loved his children more than anything.  He loved spending time with family and friends but his passion in life was spending it with his girls.  He brought them everywhere which included a lot of family outings, birthday parties and community events.  They spent time sight seeing and went on joyrides even if it was just to the store.  He liked taking them four-wheeling with family and friends.  They would take long walks and stop by to visit with family.

Brandon was a very dedicated Viking, Twins and Timberwolves fan.  He rarely missed any of the games.  Let’s just say, he was an all ‘round sports fan!  He also enjoyed shaking dice, playing cards, scratch offs and going to the casino.

If you knew Brandon, you knew he had the biggest heart and was always there to lend a helping hand.  There was never a time he would leave anyone hanging.  He always checked in on family and friends to see how they were doing in a time of need.

Deeply loved, Brandon will be missed by his daughters Taleigha and Tehya Dakota, stepdaughter Kelsi Clark; parents Debra (Brad Weaver Sr) and Leroy Hanks; siblings Erica Weaver (Justin), Bradley Weaver Jr, and Maddy Weaver; mother of his children Tami Clark; Tami’s family Pam and Tomi Clark and Jasmine Basswood; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Preceding Brandon in death are his Grandmother Claudia Dakota, Grandfather Howard Molacek, Ruby and Wallace Weaver Sr, and Margaret and Charles Hanks Sr; numerous aunts, uncles, and extended family.

Brandon’s infectious smile and personality and all his care and concern and love for everyone will be greatly missed.  Fly high Brandon!
