Bruce Edward Leonhardt

Bruce Edward Leonhardt, born on December 14, 1983, in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, passed away on September 17, 2024, in Ponsford, Minnesota. Bruce was a cherished member of his family and community, known for his infectious happiness and kind-hearted spirit.

Throughout his life, Bruce worked at the Shooting Star Casino, where his joyful demeanor and helpful nature left a lasting impression on those who had the pleasure of knowing him. He was a devoted father, husband, and friend, always present those in need, and finding great pleasure in mentoring children.

Bruce was united in marriage to Tanya Garbow on April 12, 2005, and together they created a nurturing home filled with love. Bruce is survived by his wife Tonya, their children Dayton, Ian, Michael, Trinity, David Jr., Angel, and Aurora. He is also remembered by his brother David Adams Sr., sister Carleen Fineday, and his two dads, biological father Robert Meeks and adopted father Fred Leonhardt. Additionally, Bruce is survived by many cousins, and friends who were fortunate to be part of his life. 

Bruce’s hobbies reflected his joyful and adventurous spirit; he enjoyed watching television and movies, gaming with his kids, fishing, cooking, riding around in pickup trucks, and spinning. His playful charm endeared him to many, earning him the reputation of being a truly joyful presence wherever he went.

He is preceded in death by his biological mother Jackie, adopted mother Linda, brother Scott Adams, stepsister Donna Smith, cousin Joseph Smith, his grandparents, several other cousins and friends.

The memory of Bruce Edward Leonhardt will be honored with a Visitation on October 7, 2024, at Old Pine Point School in Pine Point, MN, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A Funeral Service is scheduled for October 8, 2024, at the same location, beginning at 1:00 PM, followed by a burial at Breck Memorial Episcopal Cemetery at 2:00 PM.

Bruce’s legacy of warmth, love, and joy will undoubtedly live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
