Bryan "Bunn" Knutson

Bryan Custer Knutson, known to many as “Bunn, died at his   family home in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, surrounded by his loving family, on February 28, 2021. Bryan was born July 12, 1954 to Custer and Evelyn (Dahl) Knutson in Detroit Lakes.  Bunn  graduated from Detroit Lakes High School in 1972.  In his early years he worked at Zorbaz.  If you stop in at Zorbaz,  you will see the “Bunn” pizza even yet today.  Bunn also worked for the railroad, Bunnell’s, the Eagles, Keg ‘N Que, Sharpies and the Sandbar II.

Bryan bought the Northside Bar and re-named it the “Knutson Northside Bar.” He later sold it to Bill Crane. When Gary Kiser and Randy Anderson bought the bar, Bunn became a fixture. For 27 years Bunn worked at the Northside Bar along side Gary. It was his second home.

In 1991 Bryan’s greatest Joy entered into the world. April Ann Wahlstrom. He loved his baby girl. When he spoke of her his face would light up.

Bunn loved the great outdoors. He loved hunting deer, grouse, pheasant, and ducks.  He traveled to Canada for fishing, but he loved hunting the best of all.  He also was a huge Vikings fan, and  was glad he lived long enough to see the Super Bowl this year.

Bryan will be dearly missed by his daughter; April, significant other; Annie Kelley, sister; Karen Bunnis, nephews; Scott, Mark, and Chris Bunnis, his great-nephews and nieces, along with many, many, friends.

Bryan was preceded in death by his father and mother; Custer and Evelyn,  nephew Daniel Bunnis.

Bunn fought the good fight against cancer and never lost his positive outlook.  He loved life.  Bunn had a smile that could light up the room, and  a laugh you could hear from the next room!

He will be dearly missed by all of us.
