C. Greene

Charles "John" Greene was born May 23, 1948 in White Earth, Minnesota to Charles I. and Dorothy (Jackson) Greene. He was raised and educated in Detroit Lakes and is a 1966 graduate of Detroit Lakes High School. Following graduation, John joined the U. S. Army where he became the Sergeant for the 173 Airborne serving 14 months in Viet Nam. He was united in marriage July 3, 1969 to Phyllis Rich in Newport, KY. Following his discharge, they moved to Minneapolis, MN and later to Moorhead where he worked in building construction. John adored his grandchildren and enjoyed hunting and fishing especially with his family. Survivors include his wife: Phyllis of Moorhead; 2 sons: Chris (Ramona) of Moorhead, Paul (Chanin) of Moorhead, a daughter: Carla (Todd) Wadholm of West Fargo, ND, 9 grandchildren: Jonathan, Kendra, Jasmine, Jacob, Sadi, Caden, Jaxon, Koryna, Devin and a great granddaughter: Isabella; 5 sisters: Marilyn Ericson of Detroit Lakes, Lillian Lamblec of Detroit Lakes, Pamela Belcourt of Detroit Lakes, Linda (Barry) Hjelsand of Frazee, Wanda Greene of Detroit Lakes; 3 brothers: Anthony of Moorhead, David of Detroit Lakes, Gary of Detroit Lakes, many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister: Debbie Greene and a nephew: Cordell Belcourt Jr.
