Carley Mae Jasken, 85, passed away Thursday, December 10 in San Diego, CA. Memorial Services will be held January 9th at 11AM in St. Benedict's Catholic Church in White Earth. Visitation will be one hour prior to Mass. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery, White Earth. On line sympathy and stories of Carley's life can be shared at www.daviddonehower.com. Carley was born at home to Charles and Naomi LaDue on June 29, 1930 in White Earth, MN. She moved with her family to Bemidji, Minnesota where she attended school. After graduating from Bemidji High School she moved back to the White Earth area where she lived, worked and raised her family. Those who had the pleasure to know "Babydoll", as Carley was referred to, knew she was one of a kind. Babydoll was outspoken, independent and complex. She was generous to everyone who come in contact with her. Visitors to her home always left with much more than they came with. It might have been a beautiful piece of jewelry, an angel craft or teddy bear from her collection or some good old "Babydoll" advice! She worked several different jobs over the years but her favorite job by far was her last. She worked at Shooting Star Casino in Mahnomen where she made many wonderful friends from co-workers and customers alike. "Babydoll" will be missed by many. She is survived by her seven children: Diane Lange of San Diego, CA, Julie (Don) Zimmerman of Park Rapids, MN, Joe of Detroit Lakes, Danny of Boston, MA, Charlie (Pam) of Detroit Lakes, Vicki Jasken of Silsbee, TX and Mark of Chino Valley, AZ along with special companion: "Peaches". She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren (with one on the way), and her siblings: Charles (Cecelia) LaDue of Anoka, MN, Peter LaDue of Anoka, MN, Cliff (Mona) LaDue of Clarissa, MN, Linda (Ron) Barella of Tucson, AZ and Julie Zortman of White Earth. She is preceded in death by her parents, four brothers: Michael Dean, Virgil, Son, and Eddie Joe, one sister: JoAnne LaDue, sister-in-law: Mayetta LaDue, brother-in-law: Merlin Zortman and one granddaughter: Brittany Aker.
