Carol Jean Bellanger
February 16, 1965-December 19, 2024
Carol Bellanger, 59, of Waubun, MN met the creator on Thursday, December 19, 2024 at her home in Waubun, MN surrounded by her family.
Carol Jean was born February 16, 1965, to Wallace and Helma (Tweten) Knapp in Racine, WI. Growing up and attending school in Kenosha, WI– later moving to Thief River Falls, MN when she was 18. She would then be blessed with motherhood at the age of 19, mothering four children of her own and later taking in others. In the winter 1992 (Detroit Lakes, MN) she met the love of her life, Roland Bellanger, marrying on September 18, 1993– a union lasting 31 years.
Carol held various careers throughout her life– but at heart, her true calling and passion was a wife and mother– valuing family and love above all. Devoting herself to the care of others– often putting herself last. She was filled with courage, forgiveness, understanding, and strength– while rejecting the judgement of others. Not only was she the root and protector of the family but she was its carrier.
Carol was known as a strong, sassy, humorous lady. Disdaining nonsense and valuing genuinity. And despite the many obstacles and hardships of life– her spirit never wavered. She carried many hobbies. Some of them being: native artwork, plants, music, coloring, games, movies (especially thrillers), and a good laugh– above all, she enjoyed the good company of her family and loved ones– adoring her grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her father Wallace, brother Jeffery, grandparents Grace and Howard Tweten and Margaret and Archie Knapp Sr., along with many aunts and uncles.
She is survived by her four children: Jade Hansen (Wayne), Mark Hansen Jr. (Naddhapol), Fawn Hansen (Josue), Fox Bellanger (Crystal), grandchildren: Matthew Jr., Damien, Rihanna, Aria, Nevaeh, Alejandra, Kaelyn, Benjamin, Jazzalyn, Aiden, Rylie, Kennedy; mother: Helma Knapp of Red Lake Falls, MN; siblings: Karena Marie Yockey (Jeremy) of Grovetown GA, Wallace Arthur Knapp Jr. (LeAnne) of Andrews NC, Janelle Elseth (Brent) of Ada MN.
Ma, the heavy burden has been lifted– you can finally be at rest and forever in peace, you deserve it. We will forever miss and love you.
-Until we meet again
