Caroline F. Blake, 60, of Detroit Lakes, MN died Monday, December 10 in her home. The Funeral Service will be 10:00 AM Friday, December 14 at Grace Lutheran Church in Detroit Lakes with Reverend Eric Lemonholm officiating. Interment will be 3:30 PM Friday, December 14 at Poplar Grove Cemetery, Strathcona, MN.
Visitation will be 5-7 PM Thursday, December 13 at the David-Donehower Funeral Home in Detroit Lakes with a Prayer Service at 6:30 PM and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
Caroline Frances Blake was born December 29, 1946 in San Diego, CA to Harvey and Jean (Crane) Blake. She moved with her family throughout California and attended school there. Caroline moved to the Greenbush, MN area and married Laurel Majer. They were married for 12 years and farmed near Greenbush. They divorced in 1980 and Caroline moved to Warroad, MN; then to Holt, MN. She had worked at Carol's CafAC. in Thief River Falls as a cook for ten years before moving to Detroit Lakes. Caroline worked at Evans Grocery and at St. Mary's Nursing home as a cook.
Caroline is survived by her son, Troy Majer of Fergus Falls, MN; step-daughter, Cheryl Kakaygeesick of Moorhead, MN; one granddaughter, Heather Birkholz; two great-grandchildren, Benjamin and Landon.
