Catherine Anastasia Eder, was born November 27, 1930 to Nicholas A. and Hazel M. (Buscher) Schmit on the family farm in Tenney, MN. She graduated from Tintah, MN High School and was united in marriage with Maurice J. Eder June 20, 1951. Her family was her treasure and sharing her time, talents and a listening ear were her greatest gifts. She enjoyed crafts and used her ingenuity to create anything out of almost nothing. Catherine liked to sew, making more than one wedding dress and baptismal gowns, decorating cakes and entertaining. She enjoyed painting, writing wonderful stories, a good joke, book or movie, playing cards and working crossword puzzles.
Catherine leaves behind her husband of 59 years, Maurice and six children: Tom (Julie) Eder of Fargo, ND, Judy (Kevin) Maynard of Detroit Lakes, Kevin Eder of Detroit Lakes, Mary Beth (Mike) Nelson of Wahpeton, ND, Annette (Max) Blacknik of Grand Forks, ND and Karen Harjes of Oak Park Heights, MN. Catherine was blessed with 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Dolores Dahl of Morris, MN; her brother, Irvin Schmit of Vancouver, WA and many nieces and nephews.
Catherine was preceded in death by her parents and eight siblings.
