Charlene R. Norcross, 22, Ponsford, MN died Saturday, July 4 from injuries received in an automobile accident near Ponsford. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Thursday, July 9 at the Pine Point Community Center in Ponsford, Mike Doll, officiating. Friends may call from 4:00 PM Wednesday, July 8 until the time of the service on Thursday at the community center in Ponsford.
Charlene Roberta Norcross was born October 31, 1986 in Detroit Laks, MN to Charles Peake and Rhonda Norcross. She spent her early yeas with her grandparents, George “Joe Bush” and Margaret Fairbanks. She attended Pine Point School, Park Rapids High School and is a 2004 graduate of the Circle Of Life School in White Earth, MN. She later attended the Northwest Technical School Auto Body Program in Detroit Lakes. During her working life, she worked as a hoop dance instructor, a cocktail server and security guard at the Shooting Star Casino, a house keeper and a personal care attendant.
Charlene enjoyed going to Pow Wows, playing cards, music, texting and being with family, especially her cousins: Kayla, Donna and Missie.
Survivors include her parents: Rhonda Norcross Lopez of Ponsford and Charles Peake of Minneapolis; two sisters: Michaelene (Tom Jones) Norcross of Ponsford and Nicole “Nikki” (Matt Dewey) Norcross of Mahnomen, MN; a brother: Anthony “Tony” Norcross of Ponsford. She was preceded in death by her grandparents: George “Joe Bush” and Margaret Fairbanks.
