Charles Brown

March 27, 1928 — December 9, 2013

Charles was born March 27, 1928 in Detroit Lakes to Eddie and Ellen (Antilla) Brown. He was raised in the area along with his 10 siblings. On February 7, 1948 he married the love of his life, Sylvia Bjorlo in Moorhead, MN. Over the years he worked as a truck driver, farmer and Armour employee until his retirement. At that time he continued with his used machinery business. Charlie believed in hard work and honesty, which drew people to him. Chuck and Sylvia enjoyed 65 years together and though venturing to other areas, they always returned to the lakes area. Charlie loved traveling, fishing and cooking, but his grandchildren, Dustin, Karlie, Kori and Jenny were his greatest treasure. He will be dearly missed by all his family and friends. Charles is survived by his wife Sylvia, one son, LeRoy (JoAnne) of Grand Marais, three daughters: Judi (Kim) Winter, Janice (Chuck) Palm and Jean Taylor, all of Detroit Lakes, along with four grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and three brothers: Julius (Joyce), George, Jack (Lorraine) and four sisters: Dorothy Bradshaw, Bernice Connelly, Betty Ann Saari, and Delores (Bill) Ladwig.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three siblings, and one granddaughter, Summer Taylor.
