Charles E. “Chuck” Mahar, 42, Callaway, MN, died Saturday, June 14 at St. Mary’s-Innovis Hospital in Detroit Lakes. Funeral services will be at 5:10 PM Saturday , June 21 at the David-Donehower Funeral Home in Detroit Lakes, Michael Ziemer, officiating.
Friends may call from 3:00 PM until the time of the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
Charles Elliott Mahar, known as Chuck, was born August 13, 1965 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Clifford “Skip” and Earlene (Cook) Mahar. He was raised in the Perley, MN area and is a 1984 graduate of Norman County West High School. While in high school he was an All-State half-back on the football team, ran in track and played basketball. He attended Valley City State College for a year where he was the half back on the football team. He then attended Fargo Areotech in Fargo, ND 1985 – 1987. He worked as an automobile technician for Dave’s Amoco in Fargo and later worked as a sheet metal fabricator for Paschke Plumbing and Heating in Fargo. From 1998 until the time of his death, he lived in Callaway, MN and worked for Modern Heating and Plumbing in Detroit Lakes. Chuck was united in marriage to Earlene Edgell June 7, 2008 in Callaway, MN.
Survivors include his wife, Earlene of Callaway, his father, Clifford “Skip” Mahar of Callaway; a brother, Steve Mahar of Detroit Lakes; two nieces, Morgan and Haley. He was preceded in death by his mother, Earlene Mahar.
