Cheryl Hiemenz

Cheryl Ann Hiemenz, age 80, died peacefully at home, on Sunday December 8th, in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota.

Cheryl was born on July 22, 1944 in Wilmar, Minnesota to Winton and Ruth Lindman. She graduated from Ortonville High School in 1962 and then attended college at St. Cloud State University for elementary education. She married Michael R Hiemenz in 1968.

Cheryl was passionate about teaching. She taught at Frazee-Vergas Elementary for 28 years.

Cheryl is survived by her husband, Michael, of 56 years, Detroit Lakes. Children, Matt (Tarri), Detroit Lakes, Nicole (Cory) Allen, West Fargo ND, Natalee (Jon) Yocom, Detroit Lakes, Mick, Detroit Lakes. A brother, Curt (Deb) Lindman, Blaine, MN. Grandchildren, Danielle (Eric) Glenn, Tabbitha, Hudson (Catherine), Kaden and Autumn Hiemenz. Jacob, James and Jackson Lent. Rhyan, Brooke and Hope Bahr. Hillary (Ryan) Paulson, Kaylee, Troy and Isaac Hiemenz. Great Grandchildren, Brandon, Penelope, Chanell and Saige.

David-Donehower Funeral Home is taking care of cremation. A private family service will be held at Frazee Catholic Cemetery at a later date. The family would like to thank Hospice of the Red River Valley for their care and compassion.
