Christine "Cris" Eidenschink

December 8, 1944 — November 16, 2017

Christine M. Eidenschink, 72, Detroit Lakes, MN, died Thursday, November 16 at the Frazee Care Center in Frazee, MN.  Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:30 PM, Wednesday, November 22 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Detroit Lakes, Msgr. Timothy McGee, officiating.  Interment will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery.

Friends may call 4:00 – 7:00 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM Tuesday at David-Donehower Funeral Home.  The visitation will continue 1 hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.

Christine Mathilda Eidenschink was born December 8, 1944 in Mahnomen, MN to Leo and Veronica (Jaeger) Ahles.  She was raised and educated in Mahnomen and is a 1963 graduate of Mahnomen High School.  Following graduation Cris moved to Detroit Lakes where she worked for F. W. Woolworth Company.  Cris was united in marriage to Dennis Eidenschink on June 17, 1967 in Mahnomen.  They made their home in Detroit Lakes. In 1968, they founded Denny’s Auto Sales and they also owned and operated Smokey’s Tune-up until 1980. Besides helping Denny with the Auto Sales business, Cris worked for Woolworth’s, J’s Hallmark and the Dollar Tree Store.

Cris had a loving, generous spirit for her family, friends and many loyal customers.  She was a member of the Midnight Cruisers Car Club and attended many classic car events in the area.  She also enjoyed bowling, snowmobiling and attending the various car related activities with Denny.

Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Dennis of Detroit Lakes, two sisters: Diane (David) McCue of Rogers, MN and Marilyn Ahles of Mounds View, MN., eight nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Mary.  David-Donehower Funeral Home is serving the family.
