Cindy Loberg

Cindy Jo Loberg, 56, resident of Detroit Lakes, MN, died Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at her residence surrounded by her loving family and under care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.
Memorial Services for Cindy will be held Saturday, February 22, 2014 at 1:00 PM in David Donehower Funeral Home. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services. Cindy was born July 4, 1957 in Alexandria, MN. to Peter and Joyce (Furgeson) Loberg. She started her schooling in Wilmar, MN and later Rosemount, MN. In 1968 they moved to Detroit Lakes where Cindy attended junior high and graduated from Detroit Lakes High School with the class of 1976. After high school, Cindy worked various jobs throughout the lakes area, most recently at Central Market. She was a talented quilter, making several blankets over the years that she gave as gifts to family and friends. Cindy was a talented cake decorator, making many wedding, anniversary and birthday celebrations all the more special. Cindy loved shopping, she also enjoyed going on camping trips, riding 4-wheeler on the local trails and motorcycle rides with her longtime partner Scott. As her health started to fail, Cindy kept her strength and sense of humor, always putting others in front her own needs. She loved her family, especially her grandson Wyatt.
Cindy will be remembered and missed by her companion of over 30 years, Scott Lewis of Detroit Lakes, MN., daughter: Hope Johnson, one grandson: Wyatt, mother: Joyce Loberg of Detroit Lakes, one sister: Dana (Robin) Bergen of Frazee, MN., three brothers; Curt Loberg of Audubon, MN., Doug (Julie) Loberg of Detroit Lakes, MN., and Dan (Theresa) Loberg of Lake Park, MN.
She is preceded in death by her father: Peter B along with her grandparents and many aunts and uncles. Cindy will be missed dearly by all of her family and friends. We will always remember her spirit.
