Clark Sutherland

Clark Kent Sutherland, age 53, of Detroit Lakes died Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at his home in rural Detroit Lakes. A gathering of friends will be from 11:00 am until noon on Monday, May 11 at David Donehower Funeral Home in Detroit Lakes. His ashes will be scattered in Montana at a later date. Clark was born to Donald and Elwyne (Dyer) Sutherland on August 29, 1961 in Cody, WY. He attended school in Fosston, MN where he graduated in 1981. After graduation he moved to Kalispell, MT where he worked at Rex and at various restaurants. In 2003 he returned to Minnesota where he worked for Artic Cat in Thief River Falls. In 2004 he started working for Shooting Star Casino in Mahnomen, until 2009 when he left for health reasons. Clark was united in marriage to Nora Cartwright on July 22, 2005 in Detroit Lakes. He was an avid movie collector. He also enjoyed online games, Nascar races, and football. Clark was proud to be called "Superman". He is survived by his wife of nine years, Nora; a sister, Amy Hvezda of Fargo; a brother, Adam (Billie) of Fargo; aunts, uncles, cousins, and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Elwyne; a brother, Kenneth; an infant sister, Lori; a brother in law, Delmer Hvezda; and his grandparents.
