Curt Richard Cigelske, 73, of Lake Park, died on Wednesday, November 11, 2020. Curt was born in Mahnomen, MN on June 07, 1947 to John and Gladys Cigelske.
Curt joined the United States Air Force in September of 1965 and remained a devoted patriot all his life. On June 18, 1966, Curt married his perfect woman and life-long love; Evelyn Larson. The Lord blessed them with 54 years of marriage, 2 children; Kevin and Kelly, 7 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.
Curt was a passionate outdoorsman who loved to be in the woods and on the water. Attending, coaching and “refereeing” his grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s sporting events was one of Curt’s most cherished memories. He loved to tell stories and be the loudest person in the room so that everyone at any family event or public venue would hear them. Curt also loved to handmake leather gifts for his family and friends, read, add new treasures to his many collections, take road trips, watch movies, listen to music and garden.
Curt is preceded in death by his parents; John and Gladys Cigelske, siblings; Inis, Olga, Ado, David, Gordon, Warren and Ruth Ann, and his grandson Michael. His surviving family members include his wife Evelyn, son Kevin and his wife Susan, daughter Kelly Mandt, 6 grandchildren; Alex Cigelske and his wife Sam, Sarah Cigelske, Kim Paulson and her husband Joseph, Nicholas Mandt, Joshua Cigelske and his wife Alexis, and Brekken Mandt, 5 great-grandchildren; Rayna Fudge, Jaden Paulson, Brentley Cigelske, Blake Paulson, and Bethany Paulson.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 04, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Zion Lutheran Church in Detroit Lakes, MN, with visitation from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM.
