Dale Lee Monserud, age 71, of Ogema, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 28 at his rural Ogema home. A funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Wednesday, November 4 at the Northern Lights Freedom and Life Church in Richwood, MN. A visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, November 3 at the church, with a prayer service at 7:00 pm, and will continue one hour prior to the funeral service. The burial will take place at Strawberry Lake Mennonite Church Cemetery following the service. Dale was born on March 29, 1944 to Howard and Genevieve (Meehan) Monserud in Miller, SD. His family later moved to St. Paul where he graduated from Alexander-Ramsey High School. He then attended St. Paul Vocational School and became a refrigeration technician. He worked for Thermal King in New Brighton until his retirement. Dale also taught refrigeration at the St. Paul Vocational School. Dale had many talents. He became a master gardener through the University of Minnesota. He worked as the groundskeeper for Christian Retreat and Concordia Language Camps. He graduated from the I.O.M School in Bradenton, FL. He earned two certificates from Channel of Love Missionary School and also completed a two year course from Paraclete Ministries. He earned a four year degree with A.F.C.M Bible School with teachers from Rhema Bible School in Oklahoma. Dale was a missionary to Canada; Mexico; Guatemala; Staten Island, NY; Trinidad, New York, Jamaica; Pennsylvania; and Grenada. He was a passionate preacher. Dale loved his family. He enjoyed working on John Deere Tractors and helping move houses. He was a wise man who was easy to talk to, even if you had just met him. He was willing to help anyone. Dale was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend to many. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn; three sons: Daniel (Christine) Monserud of South St. Paul, Brian Monserud of South St. Paul, and Joshua (Christina) Monserud of St. Paul; four daughters: Anne Monserud of Maplewood, Amanda (Jeff) Sandoval of Audubon, Susanah (Brodin) Keith of Duluth, and Elizabeth (Jesse) Waldo of Lake Park; 15 Grandchildren and one great-grandson.
