Daniel Bunnis

Daniel J. Bunnis, 44, resident of Detroit Lakes, died Thursday, May 7 at his residence in Detroit Lakes. Funeral Services for Daniel will be held Thursday, May 14 at 11AM in Grace Lutheran Church, Detroit Lakes. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services. Interment will be held in Oak Grove Cemetery, Detroit Lakes. Daniel John Bunnis was born December 23, 1970 in Detroit Lakes, MN to Lyle J. and Karen (Knutson) Bunnis. He grew up in Detroit Lakes attending Washington Elementary and Junior High and later Detroit Lakes High School. He worked as a bartender for several years which included VFW, Eagle's Club and most recently The Northside. He enjoyed socializing with his friends and patrons at the local establishments he worked at. In his spare time he enjoyed snowmobiling, watching the Minnesota Twins, the Vikings, going fishing, hunting and playing a round of golf.

Daniel is survived by his three children, along with his mother: Karen Bunnis of Detroit Lakes, three brothers: Scott (Stacy) Bunnis of Lake Park, Mark (Kyla) Bunnis of Detroit Lakes and Chris (Jennifer) Bunnis of Detroit Lakes, his grandmother: Evie Knutson of Detroit Lakes along with several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father Lyle, grandparents: John and Elsie Bunnis and Custer Knutson and one uncle: Vern Bunnis.
