Darrell Sorensen

Darrell Kenneth Sorensen, 87 passed away peacefully on August 18, 2021. Darrell was born July 15,1934 in Center, ND to Ray and Rosalind Sorensen.

He grew up on the farm near Driscoll, ND and attended elementary school in Sterling, ND and high school in Bismarck, ND.   He returned to farm near Driscoll and was united in marriage to Connie (Lawrence) Sorensen in 1964. He left the farm in 1969 to go back to school to pursue a teaching and master’s degree and spent 14 years teaching high school Social Studies before working for the SD Education Association in Aberdeen, SD until he retired in 1997.  Darrell and Connie recently moved to and resided in Detroit Lakes MN.

He was a husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle and a lifelong educator and learner even after he left the teaching profession.  He is survived by his wife, Connie, daughter Beth (Paul) Pridday, son Bret (Susan) Sorensen & grandchildren Luke, Maggie & Anna, brothers, Richard (Joan) Sorensen, Wayne (Fran) Sorensen and sister Donna (Jack) Seibel and several nieces and nephews.
