Dawn Mattson

Dawn M. Mattson, 48, Lake Park, MN, formerly of Detroit Lakes, died Wednesday, April 14 at Sanford Health in Fargo, ND. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 20 at Grace Lutheran Church in Detroit Lakes. Interment will be in Lund Lutheran Cemetery, rural Detroit Lakes. Friends may call 4:00 - 8:00 PM Tuesday at David-Donehower Funeral Home in Detroit Lakes and at the church 1 hour prior to the service on Wednesday. Dawn Michelle Mattson was born March 25, 1963 in Detroit Lakes, MN to Charles and Sharon (Bartnes) Johnson. She is a 1981 graduate of Detroit Lakes High School. Dawn was united in marriage to Roger Stumbo in Sisseton, SD in 1980. They moved to Hitterdal, MN. Following their divorce, she moved to Lake Park, MN. Dawn married Donnie Mattson in Lake Park, MN in 1993. They divorced and she moved to Detroit Lakes in 1999 where, among other jobs, she managed the American Legion Club. She had recently begun working for Baer Farms in rural Lake Park. Dawn enjoyed her grandchildren, golf and helping others. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the American Legion Honor Guard. Survivors include a son: Robbie Stumbo of Detroit Lakes; a daughter: Nicole (Dustin Hildenbrand) Stumbo of Detroit Lakes; her mother and step-father: Sharon and LeRoy Dietz of Detroit Lakes; two sisters: Stacie Swenson of Detroit Lakes and Leigh Ann (James) Cossette of Lake Park, MN. She was preceded in death by her Dad and a brother, Charles Johnson.
