Delma L. Moltzan, 92, Detroit Lakes, died Saturday, August 15, 2015 at Oak Crossing in Detroit Lakes.
Delma Lula Mott was born in Detroit Lakes, MN on August 17, 1923 the daughter of Orren and Emma (Feldt) Mott. She was raised and educated in Detroit Lakes graduating from Holmes High School in Detroit Lakes. After school she worked at Pettibone Lodge in Shoreham and later at the Ben Franklin in Detroit Lakes. Delma was united in marriage to Roland Moltzan in Detroit Lakes. In 1958 they moved to St. Cloud where Delma was employed at the nursing home. In 1982 they purchased a lake home on Big Floyd Lake. Delma loved living on the lake; she enjoyed watching the loons, geese and hummingbirds and grew a small garden of fresh vegetables each year. She loved collecting bird figurines whenever possible and attending bible study with her friends. She had many dear friends and neighbors over the years and Delma's family will forever be grateful for Delma and Roland's friend Bill who watched over Delma after Roland passed in 1985. Delma is survived by her son, Don Moltzan of Detroit Lakes, Grandson Matthew Moltzan, US Army, Melbourne, Australia, her daughter, Rita Collins of Kokomo, IN, Grandsons; Orren Jensen and Tony Kampmann, Granddaughter, Marjie Parkhurst, Step-Granddaughters; MacKenzie Freshour and Rachel Goble, two sisters; Florence Braaten of Aitkin, MN and Lorraine Murray of Green Bay, WI. Four Grandchildren, one Great-Grandson, and two Sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her Parents; Emma and Orren Mott, Husband; Roland E. Moltzan (1985) and four brothers; Galen, Benny, Leo and Lorenzo
