Delmas Jones

Delmas was born on November 19, 1985, to Paula Jones, in St. Paul, MN. He came to Pine Point with his mother in 1990, where he attended school at the Circle of Life, Park Rapids, Detroit Lakes, and Audubon schools. He worked for the Shooting Star Casino, in construction, and as a cook. Delmas loved to sing and dance at Pow Wows. He enjoyed traveling and being outdoors. Delmas was a fan of baseball, basketball, softball, and football and enjoyed playing them all. He also liked watching professional wrestling. Delmas was fond of music and would often help his cousin compose. He loved his family and enjoyed his time with them. He liked playing Keno and the slots at the casino, where he and his grandfather, Donald, spent time together. He was a fun loving and enjoyable person who liked to tell jokes and pull pranks. His time on Earth was short but sweet.

He is survived by his children, Christina Engst of Park Rapids, Kaydahlynn Blaine of Monte Video, and Jerome Jones of White Earth; grandmothers, Naomi Jones of Pine Point, Mary Ortley of Mahnomen, and Jeanette Jones of Mahnomen; grandfathers, Donald Hardy Sr. of Pine Point, and Lawrence Hardy of Pine Point; a brother, Benjamin Jones of Pine Point; sisters, Brianna Mortenson, of Frazee, Cynthia Jones of Pine Point, and Karen Jones of Pine Point; uncles, David Edwards, and Bud Hardy, both of pine point; aunts, Mary (DJ) Edwards of Mahnomen, Danielle (Jayme) Harper of Pine Point, Vanessa (Dexter) Stillday of Plummer; Janelle and Tina of Pine Point, and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his mother, Paula Jones; grandmothers, Corinne Jones, Juanita Hardy, and Alberta Johnson; grandfathers, Charles Stone, Tom Jones Jr., and Delmas Jones; and a childhood friend, Robert "Pie" Butcher.
