Delores Jean Bellanger

Delores Jean “Dolo” Bellanger, 73, of Pine Point, died unexpectedly on Monday, April 15^th, 2024 at her home.   She was born on October 12^th, 1950 in White Earth, MN to John (Johnny Bell) Bellanger and Elizabeth (Eliza) Jane Rock.  Dolo grew up in Pine Point, MN where she spent the majority of her life.  After graduating from high school, she attended the Minnesota School of Business.   She was united in marriage to Delmar “Tonto” Basswood and later divorced.  Together they had four children, Leroy, Calvin, Kevin, and Rochelle.  Dolo worked in various capacities throughout her adult life, spending many years working as a CHR for the White Earth Reservation.   Dolo enjoyed meeting new people, country and western music, baking in which she was known for her baked beans, sewing, 20 20 bingo, going for rides, photography, reading the news and being on her computer surfing the internet.

Dolo joins her mother Eliza, dad “Johnny Bell;” paternal grandparents George Bellanger and Esther Jourdain, maternal grandparents James Rock and Nancy Pennington Rock LaRose and John LaRose; brother Leonard “Boye” Bellanger; sisters: Katherine and Marcianna Bellanger; grandson Kevin Basswood Jr.; Uncles: Willis Rock, Emil Rock, William “Tip” Rock and Bernard Rock.  Aunts Charlotte “Shun” Boswell, Katherine “Ga-deen” Wells, Florence Mountain, and Leona Johnson; half-sisters Betty Lou King, Joyce Badboy, Christina Schwanke, Joann Wade, and Evelyn Lang; nephews Jerry Bellanger, Jon “Rudy” Bellanger and Deron Ellis; niece Charlotte Robbins; great nephew Stephen Bellanger.

Those she leaves behind are her sons: Leroy (Bonnie), Calvin and Kevin Basswood Sr., daughter Rochelle Basswood, grandchildren: Lee Basswood, Cora Jones, Jasmine Clark; sisters: Beverly Ellis, Geraldine Bellanger, Irene Adams, Theresa, Evelyn, Marlene, and Roberta Bellanger; many nieces and nephews too numerous to mention.
