Delores Rosing

Delores E. "Dode" Rosing, 88, Audubon, MN, died Friday, May 30 at Oak Crossing in Detroit Lakes.
Memorial Services will be held Thursday, June 5 at 2PM in St. Peter's Lutheran Church, rural Audubon, MN. Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 4 at David Donehower Funeral Home from 5PM – 7PM with a 7PM Prayer Service. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services on Thursday. Interment will be in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery. Delores "Dode" Erickson was born June 5, 1925 in rural Lake Park to Emil and Thora (Zachariason) Erickson. She was raised near her grandparents (Moline) farm on the site of the current Baer farm. Delores attended District 15 country school and helped raise her four brothers and one sister due to her mother's illness. On November 28, 1947, Delores was united in marriage to Arvid Rosing of Barnesville. They purchased a dairy farm near Audubon in November of 1950. Together they worked tirelessly milking cows and raising five children and one nephew. Delores went above and beyond as a home maker, farmer, mother, wife and grandmother. During the summer months she cleaned cottages and after moving from the farm, she provided daycare for four of her grandchildren. She was a wonderful cook and filled her home with baked goodies, canned goods along with jams and jellies. She loved to sew and was a member of St. Peter's Ladies Aid Circle and Piecemakers quilting. Delores also loved to draw, sing, play accordion and piano, acting and attending church. Above all her family was her most precious asset. Delores will be remembered and deeply missed by her five children: Dave (Paulette) Rosing of Audubon, Dixie (Larry) Bushette of Elverta, CA, Bruce (Darla) Rosing of Kenai, AK, LaVaun (Shawn) Lealos of Audubon and Karla (Paul) Hogenson of Audubon. She is also survived by her 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandson and one sister: Gail Laney of Audubon. She is preceded in death by parents, husband Arvid (2010), infant son: Dennis, four brothers and one sister.
