Dennis Lessard

Dennis Joseph Lessard, 68, Detroit Lakes, MN, died peacefully on Saturday, March 22 at the Frazee Care Center in Frazee, MN. Dennis was born September 15, 1945 in Grafton, ND to Frederick and Juliette (Collette) Lessard. He attended St. Aloysius Academy before graduating high school from Northwest School of Agriculture in Crookston, MN. Dennis loved life on the farm and farmed with his father in the Grafton area through the 1990's. Upon retirement, he and his wife, MayDean VanVoorhis, moved to the Detroit Lakes, MN area. Dennis is survived by his mother, Juliette of Temecula, CA, a brother, Earl of Detroit Lakes, two sisters: Karen (Philip) Hansen of Temecula, CA and Merry (Carter) Anderson of Sioux Falls, SD. He was preceded in death by his wife, MayDean, his father, Frederick and a brother, Raphael. Graveside services will be held at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Oakwood, ND On Thursday, May 15, 2014 at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any memorials be sent to the Frazee Care Center, 219 W. Maple Ave., Frazee, MN 56544 for their Memory Garden or for the "Benefit of the Residents" or to Hospice of the Red River Valley, Detroit Lakes, MN.
