Dennis Edward Presler was born December 12, 1947 on Staten Island, New York to Melvin and Dorothy (Riquet) Presler. While an infant, he moved with his family to Alfred, ND and then to Fargo where he is a 1966 graduate of Fargo Central High School. Following graduation, Dennis joined the United Sates Air Force beginning his career as a military police officer. He was then trained as a military photographer, a skill that took him around the world taking pictures for the Air Force. Following his discharge in 1987, he moved to rural Vergas, MN where he learned to play the base guitar. Dennis played country –western music with a number of bands. He became ill in 1995 and moved to Detroit Lakes in 1998 where he was a silent partner in Toy Finders. Especially given his frail health, he loved spending time listening to his extensive record collection.
Survivors include two sisters and a brother: Rosalie Presler of Detroit Lakes, Shirley (Bradley) Bergquist of Detroit Lakes and Scott (Debbie) Presler of Central City, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents. David-Donehower Funeral Home is serving the family.
