Donald James Prindle age 58 of Detroit Lakes, passed away surrounded by family on April 1st, 2025, at his home in Detroit Lakes, MN. Don was born on Oct. 31st, 1966, in Minneapolis, MN and was adopted by Joan and Milo Prindle.
He grew up in Buffalo, MN and then enlisted in the Army and was a Fire Support Specialist (13F), calling in artillery. After he completed his service in the Army, he enlisted in the MN National Guard and became an Eye Specialist (91Y). When out of the military, he worked various jobs until he became serious about working in the HVAC and refrigeration field. Don began at entry level, working hard and continuing developing more skills. Eventually he became a service technician. After a few years he and his wife started their own HVAC/R company.
Don met his wife Michelle (Patnaude) in the National Guard, they married in 1992 and have 3 children. He enjoyed nature, work kept him busy so he didn’t have much time for hunting and went fishing as often as he could. Don had a large variety of hobbies he enjoyed to do, such as gardening, studying the Bible, cooking/baking, and playing computer games with the kids.
In recent years, Don was fortunate to find some of his biological family.
He is survived by his wife Michelle and their 3 children: Tiffany, Adam, Noah Prindle, his brother James Prindle. He was preceded in death by his 2nd baby, his adopted dad Milo, his sister Eileen, and both of his biological parents.
