Donald Anderson

Donald R. Anderson, 82, passed away on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at Diamond Willow Assisted Living in Detroit Lakes, MN.

Donald Reinhold Anderson was born on August 2, 1938 to Helge and Mathilda (Glawe) Anderson in Detroit Lakes, MN. He was raised on the family farm in Callaway where he attended school until the 8th grade. He was a hard working farmer all of his life on the family farm. On November 25, 1967, Donald was united in marriage to Betty Jean Erickson at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Callaway, MN and to this union one son James was born.

Donald would do anything for his grandkids and he loved spending time with them. He enjoyed hunting deer, playing cards, the accordion, dancing and watching western movies or Wheel of Fortune. Donald was known for his huge heart, his bright smile and he was a big animal lover.

Donald’s passing will be mourned by his son James “Jim” (Stacey) Anderson, his grandkids Michael and Alyssa Anderson, his two sisters Helen Linden and Dorothy (Pete) Neisen, his sisters-in-law Vivian (Ernie) Carner, Janet (Jim) Donner, Phyllis Solmon, Lisa Hartmann, Darlene (Harold) Soyring, Florence Anderson and Kathy Erickson, his brothers-in-law Wayne (JoAnn) Erickson and Rodney Erickson, many nieces and nephews, and his good friend Douglas Wanzek.

Preceding Donald in death is his wife of 28 years Betty Jean, his parents Helge and Mathilda, his brother Duane Anderson, his father and mother-in-law Norris and Cora Erickson, and his brothers-in-law Gary and Lee Erickson.
