Donna Marie Kohler was born November 23, 1931 in White Earth, MN to Jesse and Eva (DeGroat) Thompson. She was raised and educated in White Earth. She moved to Detroit Lakes where she was employed with Mickey’s Café. Donna was united in marriage to William G. Kohler, March 27, 1953 in Detroit Lakes, MN. They lived in California for 17 months, returning to Detroit Lakes. They moved to a farm north of Audubon in 1962. William died in 1980. She moved to Detroit Lakes in 1982 where she operated a house cleaning business until her health would no longer allow her to do so.
Donna enjoyed playing with her grandchildren, dancing, making lefsa with her friend, Doris, visiting and working cross word puzzles. She was well known for her cooking..
Survivors include her children: Karen (Brad) Grant of Audubon, MN, James Kohler of Detroit Lakes, Gail Wells of Centralia, MO, Timothy (Tracy) Kohler of Detroit Lakes, Kevin (Sheila) Kohler of Barnesville, MN, Kim Kohler (Chuck Sundlie) of Elk River, MN, 17 Grandchildren, 15 Great-Grandchildren. In addition to her husband, William, Donna was preceded in death by two sisters, Anna & Sylvia and a brother, Gerald.
