Doris Bellcourt

Doris M. Bellcourt, 66, White Earth, MN, died Friday, August 14, 2009 at her home under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, August 18 at the Bellcourt residence, 25680 - 355 th Street, White Earth, MN. Interment will be in St. Columba Episcopal Cemetery in White Earth. Friends may call from 5:00 PM TODAY (Monday) until the time of the service at the Bellcourt residence in White Earth.


Doris Marie Bellcourt was born April 2, 1943 in White Earth, MN to Franklin and Hazel (Bellanger) Jackson. She was raised and educated in White Earth. She moved to Minneapolis, MN where she raised her children and grandchildren. She also worked as a personal care attendant. Doris was united in marriage to LeRoy Bellcourt in Minneapolis in 1965. She returned to White Earth in 2004.


Doris enjoyed spending time with her grandson, Rafael; working crossword puzzles, playing cards, going to the casino, and spending time with her family.


Survivors include two sons: LeRoy Bellcourt Jr. of White Earth; Vincent Jackson (Julie Dakota) of Minneapolis, MN; two daughters: Valerie Bellcourt of Minneapolis and Kari Bellcourt of White Earth; 10 grandchildren: Jeff, Bruce, Mike, Vanessa, Kayle, Karla, Ralph, Rafael, Vala and Jaren; great-grandson, Karleon; two sisters: Jane (Wally) Kubesheveski of St. Paul, MN and Evelyn Papesedora of Minneapolis, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Violet; a granddaughter, Violet and nephews: Joe and Scott Papesedora.
