Doris Ilse

Doris H. Ilse, age 78, resident of Detroit Lakes, MN died Saturday, February 7, 2009 at Emmanuel Nursing Home in Detroit Lakes. The Funeral Service for Doris will be 10:00 AM Thursday, February 12, 2009 at the David-Donehower Funeral Home in Detroit Lakes. Interment will be held Friday, February 13, 2009 at 2:15 PM in Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services on Thursday.

Doris Hannah Nelson was born on December 8, 1930 in Isabel, South Dakota to Lawrence and Ruby (Stull) Nelson. She married James L. Moncrief in 1948. James and Doris had 10 children, they divorced in 1968. She then married Floyd Conn in 1969 and they had one child together. Floyd died in 1978. In 1979, Doris married Adolph “Bud” Ilse in Sioux Falls, SD. Bud died May 17, 2008.

Doris enjoyed cooking; canning and tending to her flower gardens where she had a special love for roses, double hollyhocks and morning glories.

She is survived by her children, Jimmie (Cheryl) Moncrief of Renton, WA, Jennifer (Branden) Phillips of San Antonio, TX, Fern Moncrief of Montana, Ruby Hulsey of Texas, Gloria Moncrief of Indiana, Ferrell (Barb) Moncrief of Inwood, IA, Forrest (Yvonne) Moncrief of Texas, Lorna (Rick) Mcmullen of Portland, OR and Melody (Todd) Thomas of Callaway, MN. She is also survived by 26 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; 1 ^st husband James; 2 ^nd husband Floyd and 3 ^rd husband Adolph, along with two sons.
