Doris J. Kaatz, 90, Detroit Lakes, MN died Thursday, November 8 at Sunnyside Care Center, Lake Park, MN.
Funeral Services for Doris will be held Monday, November 12 at 11AM in Immanuel Lutheran Church, Audubon, MN. Visitation will take place one hour prior to services. Interment will be held in Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery, Audubon.
Doris Jeanette Branden was born December 9, 1927 in Cuba Township north of Lake Park, MN to Carl and Lizzie (Danielson) Branden. She grew up in Audubon, MN, graduating from Audubon High School. After high school Doris attended Business College earning her associates degree. Doris was united in marriage to Alby Kaatz in 1947. They made their home in Audubon before moving to Detroit Lakes in the late 1980’s. During her working career she was employed with Haukedahl Trucking and Audubon Post Office.
In her spare time she enjoyed flower gardening and watching her favorite T.V. series, “Days of Our Lives”. Doris was also an excellent baker of donuts, flap-jacks and krumkaka. She was a loving and caring mother and always was willing to help anyone in need.
Doris will be remembered and missed by her one daughter: DeAnn “De” (John) Quam of Detroit Lakes, two sons: Timothy Kaatz of Detroit Lakes and Micheal (Nan) Kaatz of Minnetrista, MN along with four grandsons: Robb Gottenborg, Ryan Kaatz, Adam Kaatz and John Kaatz. She is also survived by 4 great-grandchildren and one sister: Carol Haukedahl.
She is preceded in death by her parents Carl and Lizzie Branden, her husband Alby Kaatz (2001) along with five brothers: Duane, LaMoyne, Marlyn, Dean and Larry.
