Dorothy Halverson

Dorothy M. Halverson, 90, resident of Ada, MN formerly of Frazee, MN, died Wednesday, June 17 at the Benedictine Care Community, Ada. Funeral Services for Dorothy will be held Wednesday, June 24 at 2PM in David Donehower Funeral Home. Officiating will be Reverend Ray Sherwood. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services. Interment will be held in Nidaros Lutheran Church Cemetery, Clitherall, MN Dorothy Mae Nelson was born in Canistota, SD to Carl and Mary (Hurley) Nelson. Dorothy was united in marriage to Harry Halverson on April 13, 1945. They resided in Rothsay, MN until moving to Frazee. While in Frazee, Dorothy worked at the Frazee Care Center as a nurse's aide for over 30 years. Throughout the years she cleaned area homes for families and for a short time she cleaned the United Methodist Church in Frazee. Dorothy enjoyed spending time with her family, watching her TV shows and gardening. She always shared her gardening produce that she harvested each year with family and friends. Dorothy is survived by her three sons and one daughter: Gary (Mary Ann) Halverson of Clarissa, MN, Lloyd Halverson of Lake Park, MN, Leslie (Marie) Halverson of Frazee and Deborah Chounard of Frazee. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband Harry.
